What to Drink in New Orleans, LA - Part 2

Disclaimer: this post does not involve any alcoholic beverage. New Orleans was really hot, even in October. It was about 90°F on one of the days of my visit so I went to Rocket Fizz to get a cold soda. They have locations all over the U.S. and one location in Alberta, Canada. The soda variety was extensive and I did not know what to get. So, I took the easy way out and asked the guy at the register for a recommendation. He was really helpful and nice.

In the end, I got a berry soda and my sister got a root beer. I had the Jones berry cane sugar soda but I forgot which brand the root beer was. Both sodas were yummy. But, just like most sodas, the drinks were very sweet. I have to admit though, the berry soda is only delicious if you enjoy berry flavored sodas. Otherwise, stick to the root beer.

The really good news is that the Jones Soda Company lets you customize your soda labels. You can order a few dozen bottles for your next party. Rocket Fizz also has their brand sodas in a variety of flavors, including banana nut, black cherry and black licorice. The soda I got was about $3, with New Orleans taxes. To me, it was worth the money since there are very few vendors, if any, carrying these Jones sodas near my place.

I had always wanted to try the soda from Rocket Fizz ever since I passed it in Philadelphia, PA. The store has such a cool vibe that even if you don't want to get a drink, you would want to walk in. It literally is a soda and candy store. People of all ages would love the store. These kind of stores brings me back to my childhood.

Do you know of any store that makes you feel like a child again (besides the Disney store)?
