I went to Sweet Moment to catch up with a friend from college. She was the one who suggested this location. I have been to the cafe once with my sister and mom before. Sweet Moment is in the Manhattan's Little Italy/Chinatown area. This area is a good place to explore as a foodie.
I bought a mango and cheesecake bingsoo that they are known for. My friend and I could not finish our plate of bingsoo because it was too much. Bingsoo is a Korean dessert. The mango cheesecake bingsoo's main ingredients are shaved ice, fresh mangoes, and rice cakes. The little cup has condensed milk and I don't recommend pouring much of that over your shaved iced. The bingsoo is too sweet as it is. The plate size bingsoo was $15 before tax. The cup size is half the size at $7, which is the better deal so you can try the other flavors. The price is a little pricey for a frozen dessert but it is worth treating yourself sometimes. Since it was late fall when I went to the cafe, there were plenty of available seats. This cafe is a good place to chill or study, with a cozy vibe.
I went to Uptown Swirl, a self-serve froyo place by Times Square for dessert with family, after Thai food. This froyo place also has crepes and waffles. Times Square needs no introduction. It is known to be bright, day and night in a city that never sleeps. The area is a good place to find food since Broadway is there and you would find food before/after the show.
My siblings and I were full. We shared a customized cup/bowl of frozen yogurt (vanilla and chocolate flavors). It is a little disappointing that they did not have more flavors like, maybe strawberry or Irish mint flavors. They have about 10 flavors at a time. As usual, frozen yogurt is sweet so I did not actually add anything topping, even though you would have plenty to choose from. I paid about $8 for the cup/bowl, which is a good price for frozen yogurt. The seating space is limited so you might want to think about having the yogurt on-the-go. The loft provides a pretty cool vibe with some seating area, if you manage to get a spot. If you do not, there is limited space closer to the back of the place. As a whole, this place has good froyo and I would recommend it for when you visit New York.
