What to Eat in New Orleans, LA- Part 3

Updated: Jan 18, 2019

Having some New Orleans turtle soup would be a luxury and sort of a comfort food in the winter. Being in the very hot New Orleans, turtle soup might not seem like a good idea but when in New Orleans...

My sister had a brilliant idea of eating more exotic food. This time, we were going to try the turtle soup from Felix's Restaurant & Oyster Bar. Felix's is in three different locations, two of which are in New Orleans. During our four day trip, we went to Felix's at least twice for their turtle soup. Aside from turtle soup, we also got jambalaya, po boy and gumbo.

As you can see from the picture, we ordered take out and ate in our hotel room to take a break from the busy streets before heading back out for another girls' night out. The jambalaya and turtle soup were both very delicious. That was why we went back to Felix's the second time, right before leaving New Orleans. The portions may look average but they were filling. Check out the menu, with prices, here. They are worth the price since these are very difficult to find in other places.

I was thinking of including a turtle soup recipe in this post but I realized that turtle meat is very difficult to find.

Have you tried any exotic food that you love?
